Maria McDonald

Hello, I’m Ms. Maria. I was born and raised in Colombia, South America and I have been living in the United States for more than 21 years. I am so grateful for this amazing country that I chose to call it home. I’m so excited to be part of your child’s education as Lead Teacher.

I love spending time with my family, our dog, and friends. I have been blessed with our son, Jack (7), a former preschooler of FBCM. We love everything to do with outdoors, playing sports, learning piano, and teaching him Spanish. I am happy to share a few hobbies with my husband of 13 years, like: hiking, working in the garden, working on projects around the house, board games, watching auto racing, Tennis, Baseball and Soccer.

I’m looking forward to being a part of this amazing team of teachers and students!

Susan Thompson

Hi, my name is Susan Thompson and I will be one of the teacher assistants this year, this is my 19th year hear at the preschool. I have been married to my husband Bobby for 54 years and we have two children and two grown grandchildren. I have been a member of First Baptist church since 1964 and am active in the choir and the hand bells, I am also a Sunday school teacher in the babies to 2-year-old class. My hobby is scrapbooking and my husband and I enjoy going to baseball games am looking forward to teaching your children this year. I know we will have a great year.

Amber Severns

My name is Amber Severns and I’m originally from Thomasville, North Carolina. My husband and I relocated to the area in 2016 where we began to start our family. We have two beautiful daughters, ages six and one, who are the light of our lives. We also have a cat, Miss Ruth, who is a fan favorite in our household. I started as a substitute teacher at FBCM in 2021 and am so excited that I have now made a career out of loving on your children, furthering their education, and teaching them about our Savior, Jesus Christ!
